Royal Caribbean International here to stay, says tourism’s deputy minister

Royal Caribbean International which is the biggest cruise line in the world will continue their presence in Cyprus this year and the next, Deputy Minister for Tourism Savvas Perdios said on Monday.

Royal Caribbean International is here to stay, Perdios also said while presenting his Ministry’s work on repurposing the country’s tourism.

Post-pandemic Cyprus tourism will no longer be the same sun and sea only destination, he added.

He then disclosed that, over the past 18 months, the Deputy Ministry focused on drafting a policy aiming to make Cyprus an all-year-round destination.

Among actions developed to establish this new image Cyprus will be hosting again the golf tournament European Tour, which is now renamed DP World Tour, in November.

This popular sport event will be broadcast live to half a billion viewers worldwide.

In addition, L ‘ Etape by Tour de France cycling race will also take place in Cyprus this year – for the first time ever.
