The risk of forest fires on Monday remained on red alert with the Forestry Department calling on the public to be extra vigilant.
In particular, they called on people to refrain from any activities that may cause forest fires now that temperatures are extremely high all day long.
The Department also requested that anyone who detects smoke or fire to call them on 1407 or the Cyprus Fire Service on 112.
