News agency Reuters today issued a correction on an earlier story quoting ENI’s chief operating officer saying that the EastMed pipeline would be fully completed by 2025.
The correction, according to an announcement from the Energy Ministry of Cyprus, quotes the COO Guido Brusco saying in fact that Eni expected to fully replace Russian gas by 2025 “helped by East Med fields” it said, adding: “This story corrects to take out the reference to Eastmed pipeline”.
EastMed is a subsea pipeline designed to supply gas to Europe from the east Mediterranean via Israel, Greece and Cyprus worth 6 billion euros and which has been in planning for several years.
