The death of a 15 year old pupil who collapsed and died at a birthday party in Troulloi last month has been attributed to alcohol poisoning, Phileleftheros reported on Friday.
It said that tests had shown 340 ml of alcohol in his blood and added that an investigation will be carried out to probe whether the teen had been bullied into drinking at the party.
A post mortem examination had found that the boy died of asphyxia after ingesting vomit.
The pupil was at a birthday party on April 14 when he suddenly went outside, vomited and collapsed. First responders were unable to revive him and the boy was pronounced dead on arrival at Larnaca Hospital.
A police investigation is underway into the teen’s death. Police are also probing reports the boy had been a victim of bullying.
