The remand order for 31-year-old partner and only suspect in the death at Petra tou Romiou area of Lesia Bykova, 28, from Ukraine, expires on Tuesday and is expected to be renewed.

This is what Philenews reported on Monday citing police sources who also said their ongoing investigations still focus on a premeditated murder case.

Bykova was found dead in the picturesque cliff area of Paphos 10 days ago and an alalum with coroners seeing different findings in the case followed with a third autopsy’s findings still pending.

The Pontian Greek suspect insists his partner’s death was an accident after she had slipped and fell to her death while trying to take a selfie.

However, the two state coroners, Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou, after the autopsy they performed on the body of woman showed that her death was the result of a criminal act.

But private medical examiner Marios Matsakis, on behalf of the suspect, disputes the findings of the first autopsy.

Matsakis also underlined that from the examination he carried out on the suspect as well he was full of abrasions after trying to save her.

The second state autopsy on the body of Bykova was carried out last Wednesday by medical examiner Hara Spiliopoulou from Greece. Matsakis was present on behalf of the suspect.

The findings of this autopsy will determine the future of the investigations, police also said.
