Rainy weather today, police warn of slippery roads

Today will be mostly cloudy with local showers and/or thunderstorms expected island-wide with snow or sleet likely in the highest mountain areas.

Police issued a warning of slippery roads and limited visibility on the Limassol-Paphos motorway and urged drivers to be particularly careful, drive at a low speed, keep a safe distance from vehicles ahead of them and turn on their lights.

Temperatures will reach 15 C inland, 17 C on the coast and 6 C in the mountains. Tonight temperatures will edge down to 5 C inland, 7 C on the coast and -2 C in the mountains.

Wednesday will be mainly fine but rain will return on Thursday and Friday with anticipated local showers and isolated thunderstorms island-wide and snow or sleet in the highest mountains. Temperatures will not shift significantly remaining below average for the time of year.
