Rain and thunder on the way, but not until next week

Autumn weather is just around the corner with rain and thunder and lower temperatures on the way but not until next week, the island’s Met Service said on Wednesday.

Dust in the air is recorded on Wednesday and will continue on Thursday along with a higher than average season temperature.

Specifically, Wednesday is sunny to partly cloudy with possible local showers in the afternoon.

Winds are variable, northerly to northwesterly, force 3 to 4 Beaufort over a smooth to slight sea.

The temperature will rise to 28 C inland, 26 C in the west coast, 27 C in all other coastal areas and 18 C in the mountains.

On Thursday, cloud will develop from midday on and may give way to isolated showers mainly in western and southern mountainous areas.

The temperature is not expected to change significantly.

On Friday, the weather will be mostly clear, however, increased cloud in the afternoon may give way to light rain only in the mountains.

The temperature is expected to slightly drop.
