Price drop in EAC bills for the month of August

Relevant News

An average household can expect to pay €10 to €15 less on their Augusts electricity bill due to a reduction in the fuel adjustment coefficient, Phileleftheros reported on Tuesday.

This will come as particularly good news for those who use air conditioning for prolonged periods, be it households, stores and hotels, it noted.

Fuel costs for this August will be similar to those for the month of March 2019.

Specifically,  for the past two months EAC charged 4.22 cents per kilowatt-hour coefficient for the fuel adjustment, while the price for the two coming months will be 3.27 cents per kilowatt-hour, a 25% reduction without considering the VAT charge.

Taking into account the VAT, the fuel adjustment coefficient and the standard price fluctuations in the average bill, customers were charged 5.03 cents per kilowatt-hour in the previous two months, while for these two months the cost of the fuel charge will amount to 3.78 cents per kilowatt-hour.

Moreover,  a bill for the consumption of 1,000 kW, EAC charged  225.76 in the previous two months, while, for the same amount of consumption , the bill will be of  €213.27 in these two months. The average reduction in the final bill will be around 5.5%.

This is the second lowest fuel cost since mid-2017, when prices began to rise.
