President expected to resume duties, after surgery, in 2 to 3 weeks

President Nicos Anastasiades is expected to return to his duties in 2 to 3 weeks, following an operation he had on Saturday on a fractured right thigh, according to his doctor.

Doctor Andreas Panagiotou, at the Mediterranean private hospital, operated successfully on the President yesterday afternoon, Health Minister Constantinos Ioannou said last night.

There were no complications during surgery and the President is recovering in his room, the Minister said, adding that he will not receive any visitors in the next 48 hours.
