President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades, attended the memorial service for the heroes of Mari, at the “Evaggelos Florakis” Naval Base, Mari.
The 11th of July, 2011, is a tragic reminder of the responsibilities of the state vis-à-vis the citizens, the Security Bodies, and the National Guard, the President said after the service.
Asked to comment on the day, the President added that the state’s duty is to make sure that all security measures are taken so that all those who have the sacred duty to defend their homeland will act under conditions dictated by the rules of proper operation of any system.
