According to the National Report on COVID-19, over the past 14 there has been a huge increase of the positivity rate both all over Cyprus and in specific districts. Furthermore, in Nicosia and
Larnaca the positivity rate has been almost double in two weeks.
According to the rapid test f the Health Ministry, data per district are as follows:
- Limassol: 1.3% this week from 0.9% on 18/4 and 0.9% on 11.4
- Paphos: 1% this week from 0.7% on 18/4 and 0.6% on 11.4
- Larnaca: 1.5% this week from 1.1% on 18/4 and 0.8% on 11.4
- Famagusta: 0.9% this week from 0.7% on 18/4 and 0.6% on 11.4
- Nicosia: 1.3% this week from 0.8% on 18/4 and 0.6% on 11.4
During the last 14 days, Limassol has had the highest mortality rate that has ever been recorded per 100,000 population (937 deaths per 100,000 population), followed by Larnaca and Nicosia (991.9/100,000 and 915.1/100,000 respectively). In Famagusta and Paphos there is also an increasing tendency (672.8/100,000 and 627.9/100,000 respectively).
