Police waiting for info from Germany regarding rapid tests case

Relevant News

The Police investigations into the 1.2 million rapid tests that the Health Ministry was going to get but it was ascertained that they were not according to specifications, are at the final stage.

The tests were imported by Mefal Company which won the relevant tender. After Mefal signed an agreement with the government, it purchased 600,000 rapid tests from a Chinese supplier, paying for them in advance. However, when it attempted to deliver them to a service of the Ministry they were rejected because they did not comply with the specifications of the agreement signed with the government.

A Police investigation began and it was ascertained that Mefal was cheated by the Chinese supplier who sent tests manufactured by another company and not the one agreed with Mefal.

According to information of Phileleftheros, currently the Police are waiting for information and mainly answers to questions by Germany regarding a company that seems to be related to the case.

The moment this data is received the file will be submitted to the Legal Service.
