Wearing a coronavirus protective mask when one takes the dog out for active walk is not mandatory, police spokesman Christos Andreou told Philenews on Tuesday.
The clarification came after many pet owners contacted the daily asking for clarifications, considering that the set fine for being outdoors without wearing a mask is €300.
“In exceptional cases, such as walking your pet or when one carries out agricultural work all by himself and there is no possibility of meeting another person, they do not fall under the decree for mandatory use of a mask,” Andreou said.
He also said that a consultation with the Ministry of Health preceded the clarification on this.
