Cyprus Police reported 32 individuals and 4 shop owners for violation of protective measures to contain the spread of the Covid pandemic.
A Police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 6:00 local time Thursday, the Force carried out a total of 2,570 checks throughout the government-controlled areas.
In Nicosia, the Police carried out 793 checks reporting 7 individuals and three shop owners, in Limassol 340 checks were carried out with 9 individuals reported and one shop owner fined, in Larnaca 5 individuals were reported following 514 checks, in Pafos 1 individual was reported after 125 checks, in Famagusta 476 checks were carried out with 10 individuals reported, while 84 checks were made in Morphou with no fines issued.
The Traffic Department and the Marine and Port Police carried out 179 and 59 checks, respectively, with no reports issued.
Most fines were due to individuals not wearing protective masks and shop owners not possessing safe pass.
