Five irregular migrants from Syria crossed into the government controlled areas from the Turkish occupied north at Louroutzina on Sunday night, the Cyprus News Agency reports.
It said the five were picked up by a police patrol at 21.40 as they were walking on the Koshi-Athienou road.
They were taken to Athienou police station where during questioning they said they were Syrian and had crossed into the government controlled areas at Louroutzina.
The five has been transferred to the temporary accommodation centre at Kokkinotrimithia.
