Police in the free Famagusta area are looking for a young woman who is suspected of swindling €16,00 from an 80 year old man on the pretext that she had a sick child, philenews has reported.
It said that a complaint had been lodged with police that between January and February this year, an unknown woman aged about 20 had managed to persuade the man to give her the money saying she had an infant that needed medical care.
She was described as of slight build, of dark complexion and long hair who reportedly sold clothes.
When the man’s children found out, she stopped contact with him.
Police are looking for the woman in a suspected case of obtaining money under false pretenses.
