Police issue 170 fines in 24 hours for breach of Covid-19 measures

Police fined 166 individuals and four establishments all across Cyprus over the past 24 hours for breach of measures aiming to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The Force had carried out a total of 11,878 inspections, according to the CNA.

In Nicosia, out of 2,372 inspections 42 citizens were booked, while in Limassol 2,843 checks led to 40 citizens and one establishment getting a fine.

In Larnaca, 1,611 checks led to 29 persons and one establishment getting a fine and out of 1,409 checks in Paphos 22 individuals and two establishments were booked.

In Famagusta, out of a total of 1,180 checks 10 people were booked and in Morphou 1,668 checks led to two citizens were booked.

In addition, Port and Marine Police carried out 37 inspections and issued no fines.
