Police issue 14 fines in 24 hours for breach of Covid regulations

Police booked two businesses and 12 individuals all across Cyprus in the past 24 hours for violation of measures against the further spread of Covid-19.

A total of 2,196 checks were carried out in all districts, police told the CNA.

Most fines concern non-use of mask by individuals while the businesses were booked after employees were found to work without a SafePass.

In Nicosia, seven individuals and two businesses were booked during 705 checks. A restaurant and a kiosk were fined €750 and €500 respectively after employees were found to work without a SafePass.

Another two people were booked during 150 checks in Limassol.

In Larnaca, 435 checks were carried out and three individuals were booked.

No violations were recorded in the Famagusta district where 509 checks were carried out, nor in Paphos during 41 checks. In the Morphou area 155 checks were carried out but no violations were recorded.
