Limassol police early on Monday arrested a 21 year old man and are looking for a second after they attended the scene following a report of an attempted burglary of a shop.
Police said they had received a report at 3.40 am of a break in at building in the Limassol district. They spotted a young man in the building who fled to a parked car. A second young man in the driving seat tried to drive off but police fired warning shots, managing to stop the car and arrest the driver. The second man fled on foot and is being sought.
The 21 year old was carrying a knife and was arrested.
