Police fine 13 individuals and 16 establishment managers for COVID-19 measures violations

Cyprus police reported 13 individuals and 16 establishment managers during the last 24 hours for breaching measures aiming to contain the spread of COVID-19.

A police spokesperson told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) that a total of 1,748 checks were carried out island-wide.

In Nicosia the police carried out 477 checks and fined 4 individuals and 10 establishment managers, while in Limassol they conducted 115 checks and handed out fines to 4 citizens and 3 establishment managers.

In Larnaca the police carried out 496 checks and booked 3 establishment managers, while in Pafos they carried out 110 checks and reported 1 individual. In Famagusta a total of 389 checks were conducted and 3 people were reported, while in Morphou the police carried out 38 checks, without reporting anyone.

The Traffic Department conducted 111 checks island-wide without handing out any fines, while the Port and Marine Police carried out 12 checks also without reporting anyone.

Most of the fines to establishment managers had to do with employees not having a safe pass or not using a mask and were between 500 and 1500 euros.
