Police early on Tuesday resumed their search for Stelios Georgiou after finding his car in the Moni area in Limassol on Monday evening.
The 36 year old has been missing from his home in Nicosia since Saturday.
Latest reports said he was last seen around 5 pm in Yermasoyia, buying water at a kiosk. He was wearing a light blue T shirt with green letters on the front, black shorts, sports shoes and sports shoes and was carrying a black backsack.
Volunteers from the NGO Reaction Youth for Prevention from Nicosia and Limassol are joining in the search at the request of the police.
The car was found locked, close to a kiosk and petrol station. The fuel tank was empty.
