Police fine 27 citizens, six businesses in 24 hours for coronavirus breaches

Police fined 27 citizens and six establishments all across Cyprus over the past 24 hoursĀ  for violation of Covid-19 measures aiming to curb the spread of the virus.

A total of 3,017 checks islandwide were carried out and the highest fine was as high as 3,000 euro, police also told the CNA.

In Nicosia, 1,206 checks were carried and no violations were reported while, in Limassol, 20 individuals and five establishments got booked following 387 checks.

In Larnaca, two individuals were fined after 477 checks and in Pafos 1 individual and 1 establishment got fines after 126 checks.

In Famagusta, 434 checks led to 4 individuals getting fined while in Morphou no violations were reported after 56 checks.

Traffic police carried out 205 checks and Maritime Police another 7 checks without booking anyone.
