Police arrest seven during Limassol migrant raid

Police arrested seven people on Thursday during a raid in a building housing migrants in Limassol.

Police said that during the operation they found 28 third-country nationals living in the building. Four of these persons were illegally in the country, while another had entered and remained illegally in Cyprus. All five have been arrested.

During the investigation, evidence arose against two people who were found in the residence. The suspects, 35 and 28, seem to have been sub-letting rooms to the other 26.

Arrest warrants have been issued against the two suspects for the provision of illegal refuge and for assisting third-country nationals to remain in the country.

Limassol police are continuing investigations.
