Police on Monday said the young man wanted in connection with the stabbing of two people during a fight which occurred in the early hours of Sunday at a nightclub in Nicosia has been arrested.
Photos of the suspect had been released on Sunday afternoon but apparently, the suspect went to a police station in Nicosia and surrendered himself.
During the fracas – around 3 am on Sunday – two men aged 24 and 38 were injured and are now being treated at the Nicosia General Hospital. Both are in stable condition, police also said.
One of the injured men worked there as a security guard who had approached the young pair involved in the fight to deal with the situation but the armed perpetrator stabbed him in the chest and fled.
Police had called on witnesses to provide them with useful information.
