Peyia Municipality in Paphos recorded a rise in civil wedding ceremonies over the past couple of months, according to Philenews.
And bookings for the rest of the year have an obvious upward trend compared to 2020, it added citing municipality insiders.
In particular, 500 weddings are planned for the rest of 2021 compared to only 200 carried out during 2020.
Most of the couples who had their civil wedding ceremonies in the town of Peyia by end of July were from Israel and Russia, while in August some British couples tied the knot there.
At the same time, some ceremonies that due to special circumstances will not take place have not been canceled but postponed to 2022.
