Following the public accusations of Nikos Zamboglou, head of the German Oncology Center, many doctors started admitting the problems they are facing in order to secure early innovative and specialized treatments for their patients. Zamboglou publicly said that “if you are someone you miraculously get your medicines without any delay but if you are a simple citizen you die.”
At the same time, speaking to state broadcaster Efthymios Diplaros, president of the House Health Committee, indirectly admitted that this is the case, noting that “sometimes there is no choice.”
Finally, the Health Insurance Organization once again assured that a large number of treatments will soon be included in the list of GESY thus helping the quicker service of patients.
