PASYKAF sets up support line for cancer patients, families

PASYKAF, the Cyprus association of Cancer Patients and Friends has set up a psychological support call centre for cancer patients, their families and all health professionals.

It will be operated by 10 psychologists and four social worker of the association and will operate from 8 am to 4 pm daily (Monday-Friday) on 22346924.

The experts will offer guidance to patients and their families on how to manage feelings from life with cancer in the current conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic and the protective measures taken.

It will also offer one-on-one support by arranging a personal telephone interview with one of the psychologists. Support will also be given to health professionals to manage their feelings in the new environment created by the pandemic.

It said this was a gesture of appreciation for everything front line health care workers were doing to fight the virus.
