Just a few days after refusing to host the unaccompanied minor migrants from Pournara Center to Famagusta District, the Mayor of Paralimni also refuse to host Ukrainian refugees in tourist establishments.
Speaking to O Phileleftheros, the Mayor said that a possible transfer of Ukrainian refugees to coastal tourist areas will affect tourism and he proposed their distribution all over Cyprus, as the best solution.
He noted that he has nothing against the Ukrainian but wondered why host 8,000 refugees in Famagusta, the heart of tourism. He pointed out that when people come for holidays they do not wish to see unhappy images.
