Paphos police are investigating an attempted murder in the Tombs of the Kings area, Paphos police chief Nicos Pentaras said on Friday.
Speaking to reporters, he said the incident occurred at an apartment block in Kato Paphos when two foreign nationals attempted to settle their differences with violence.
The victim is a 34 year old man who was taken by ambulance to Paphos Hospital A&E where doctors said he had suffered an injury from a sharp object.
His condition is described as serious but out of danger.
Pentaras said that investigations were still at their initial stage.
