Fire fighters from the Fire Service and the Game Service have contained a fire that broke out around 13.15 in difficult terrain near Miliou in the Paphos district.
Their efforts were assisted by four fire fighting aircraft.
The difficult terrain and strong winds hampered the operation, the Cyprus News Agency said.
The fire, which raged on two fronts, burnt three hectares of dry grass and wild vegetation before it was extinguished at 4.30 pm.
Fire fighters remain on site to prevent a flare up. Investigations underway as how the fire started.
