A Paphos private doctor announced today via social media that he and his nurse wife who had contracted the virus from a patient are now coronavirus-free, philenews reports.
The doctor worked for many years at Paphos hospital and now runs a private practice registered with Gesy.
He had contracted the virus from his nurse wife who works at Paphos hospital who got it from a patient who was being treated at the hospital’s ICU and later died.
“After two difficult weeks we have finally defeated the virus. Both my wife and I have tested negative in two consecutive Covid-19 tests,” the doctor wrote on Facebook.
“Thank you to all our friends who stood by us from day one. Their love and support was truly moving.
“This adventure taught us a lot. We thank you all from the bottom of our heart.”
