Paphos police booked 54 drivers, 22 of them for speeding, during a 10 hour operation on Monday as part of an ongoing campaign to prevent road accidents.
From 7 am to 6 pm, Paphos police patrols and the Z team — the special traffic branch, stopped 165 vehicles in Paphos town and the secondary road network.
They reported a total of 54 cases: 14 drivers for driving without road tax, nine for driving without MOT, one for parking against the flow of traffic, two for driving without a seat belt, one for using a mobile telephone and 22 for speeding. Moreover, two drivers were issued warnings about their lights.
