Ozersay and Tatar leading 2020 “elections” race in occupied north – survey

Kudret Ozersay of the centrist People’s Party (HP) and Ersin Tatar of the right-wing National Unity Party (UBP) are leading the race for the 2020 “presidential elections” in the occupied north, Halkin Sesi reported on Thursday.

According to the paper, Tatar came first with 52.4%, followed by Ozersay with 50.7%, in a recent survey conducted by “HK agency”.

Tufan Erhurman of the centre-left Republican People’s Party (CTP) is third with 48.7% and current Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci is fourth with 40.8%.

Former “speaker of the assembly” Sibel Siber, despite not being  an active politician anymore, is fifth with 32.4%.

Around 600 persons participated in the survey which asked the participants to evaluate the potential “candidates” on a scale of preference from 10-0.
