Out of 634 inspections, police fine 24 for covid measures breach

Police have reported 18 individuals and six premises all across Cyprus over the last 24 hoursĀ  for violations of measures in place to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.

They had carried out of a total of 634 inspections, a spokesperson told CNA.

In Nicosia, out of 58 inspections 4 individuals and 1 premise were fined, and out of 188 inspections in Limassol 2 premises were booked.

In Larnaca, out of 154 inspection one establishment and 7 individuals were fined, out of 65 inspections in Paphos 2 premises were booked, in Famagusta district 3 people were reported out of 124 inspections and in the area of Morphou out of 45 checks 4 people were fined.

Measures in place to contain the COVID-19 pandemic in Cyprus make it mandatory for employees of businesses who come in contact with the public or who prepare food and beverages to wear protective masks.

All citizens are required to wear protective masks when shopping in indoor spaces.
