Police urged citizens on Monday not to use the emergency numbers 112 and 199 to seek information on movement restriction measures for Covid-19.
“We have recently observed a large volume of calls to the emergency numbers 112 and 199 for questions on the government’s decree restricting movement to contain the spread of coronavirus.
“As a result these numbers are constantly busy causing problems with timely response to serious incidents requiring imminent intervention by the police. Citizens are called to only used these numbers ONLY for emergencies,” the announcement said.
The Ministry of Interior has recently announced dedicated numbers for answering questions pertinent to the restriction of movement decrees that can be found here.
