A patient in the oncology ward of Limassol Hospital has tested positive for coronavirus, prompting health officials there to activate all protocols.
The patient is a Briton who was in a room for two people, a spokesman for the state health services organisation Okipi told the Cyprus News Agency.
The patient who was sharing the room was isolated in another room and samples taken from all the patients and health professionals who came into contact with him.
The area is being disinfected.
Because of the case, the ward cannot admit any more patients. No patients will be discharged until their test results come back.
Another two confirmed Covid-19 cases are being treated at Limassol Hospital. One is intubated. There are also six suspect cases, with one patient intubated.
