Obligatory use of face masks as of Friday in Turkish-held north

Relevant News

The ‘council of ministers’ in occupied Cyprus decided on Wednesday the obligatory use of face masks as of Friday, the CNA reports.

The announcement was made by ‘foreign minister’ Kudret Ozersay who also said that gatherings will be prohibited during Ramadan month.

Sea travel restrictions were also extended to April 30 while people who travelled abroad for health reasons can return and remain in quarantine for 14 days.

Ozersay said that they are also looking into the possible reopening of some business sectors, but that will not happen before May.

He mentioned that the number of coronavirus tests and that of inhalers will increase and that people still working will undergo testing, adding that if necessary people working in the private sector may be hired by the ‘health ministry’, an initiative to be reportedly financially backed by Europe.
