Cabinet has not decided yet whether unvaccinated university students should be getting a negative PCR or rapid coronavirus test before they enter a class now that the new academic year begins.
Cabinet met on Monday and the SafePass issue at universities was on the agenda, but a final decision is expected to be taken on September 1 when they meet again.
This is what Philenews reported on Tuesday, citing Education Minister Prodromos Prodromou who also said that during the next few days the epidemiological picture will be re-evaluated.
And that the number of students to get vaccinated will also be reviewed. The higher the number of vaccinated students the better, said the Minister.
