The Forestry Department has posted photos of a nest of newly hatched raptors from Troodos National Park.
The photos were taken by Harris Nicolaou.
In its post, the department says the Accipiter gentilis (northern goshawk) is an exclusively forest-living bird of prey which nests in tall pine trees, mainly in ravines. There are currently only about 70 to 80 pairs of the northern goshawk in Cyprus.
The reproduction period is mainly from March to June.
