The new logo of Cyprus’s tourist identity that was yesterday revealed at the Presidential Palace has been negatively received, particularly by many users of social media.
According to the comments, the new logo is not at all inspired, it is the product of cheap work and they urge to return to the previous logo with Goddess Aphrodite.
Some people claimed that the target to disengage the tourist product from the sea and the sun is not achieved with the specific logo while others said the timing of the new logo was not good amid a difficult year for tourism due to the pandemic.
Some other users even ironically wondered whether we have paid for the specific logo.
According to information by Phileleftheros, we paid a rather small amount, 12,000 euros to Base Element, the company that submitted the lower offer to the relevant tender.
However, the logo also created a bad impression to specialists, since graphic designers also described it below average.
According to what was said to journalists, with the new logo, the Deputy Ministry and Base Elements are inviting everyone to fall in love with Cyprus again.
