With the lifting of the coronavirus restrictive measures the procedure for joining the Registry of the Public Employment Service should be carried out in a different way, Philenews reports.

Specifically, the practice of automatic active registration of unemployed people ends as of Tuesday and this has to be done online now.  New registrations can also be made via the internet.

The registration in the Employment Servie is the first step to be taken by someone who has lost his job, but also by those who are are looking for a job in general.

From tomorrow, the Department of Labour has already announced that the transition of the Public Employment Service (PES) to the online procedures actually begins.

As a result, Cypriot and European citizens as well as third-country nationals who have access to the labour market of the Republic of Cyprus, including asylum seekers.

Provided they: a) are available for work, b) are actively looking for work and c) have completed in the 15th year of their age, should register for a job search and/or counselling guidance through the online platform of the Employment Service.
