New director of the island’s Press and Information Office (PIO) Aliki Stylianou on Wednesday officially took over her duties.
She replaces Sophie Michaelides whose appointment in 2017 was appealed by Stylianou – the Central Bank of Cyprus spokeswoman at the time.
Stylianou had argued that her qualifications and longer experience had been ignored by the commission who made its selection based on the oral exam.
The administrative court cancelled the appointment of Michaelides in April 2020.
