Former government spokesman and up until Monday Undersecretary to the President Kyriacos Koushos is the new Labour Minister taking up the portfolio of recently deceased Zeta Emilianidou.
This is what an official announcement said on Monday, adding that his new duties will come in effect as of next Monday, June 27.
At the same time, Pantelis Pantelides who is now in charge of the Presidency’s Secretariat, will be appointed as head of the President’s Office – again as of next Monday.
Emilianidou – the island’s highly-esteemed former labour minister – suffered a cerebral aneurism last month and died three weeks later on June 6.
