Murder case of two Russian women finalised, Syrian brothers to be charged on Wednesday

Two Syrian brothers, aged 33 and 44, involved in the deaths of two Russian women last month will appear before Larnaca court on Wednesday to face the charge of premeditated murder.

A third Syrian man, aged 30, who was detained in connection with the mountainous Kato Amiantos case will be released as police decided not to prosecute him.

He is to stand as a witness for the prosecution, insiders told Philenews.

An isiders als said police believe the case which surfaced after a missing person’s report received on November 17 concerning the two Russian women has been finalized.

The women are Alraeesi Khaiat, 43, and Mariia Gazibagandova, 33, who were later found to have been murdered and buried in the garden of the cottage which belong to a Nicosia couple.

The main suspect is the 33-year-old Syrina who also holds Cypriot nationality and who confessed to the killings. He reportedly shot them with a hunting rifle after hearing them talking derogatively about him.

His brother will face charges of accessory-after-the-fact and interfering with the investigation.

The main suspect had keys to the mountainous resort home because he was carrying out construction work there.
