The Limassol District Court yesterday ordered the imprisonment of a 61-year-old municipal counselor, of a Limassol municipality, in relation with an investigation into a case of rape, psychological violence and harassment. These offences, according to his former wife, took place a few weeks ago.
According to Phileleftheros information, the woman filed a complaint saying that the 61-year-old entered her house illegally and then had intercourse with her under the threat of a knife. As she said the incident occurred approximately one month ago with the suspect, as she claimed, threatening to kill her. Always according to her testimony, the suspect was under the influence of alcohol.
An arrest warrant was issued against the suspect and he was arrested at midnight on Saturday.
