More than a third of 16-17 year olds unvaccinated

More than a third of youths aged 16-17 have yet to be vaccinated as of July 31st, according to the latest health ministry data.

Vaccinations for this particular age group begun in early July and so far 18,902, corresponding to 27.6% have received the jab.

In the 18 to 19 year olds, 40.5% or 21,362 have been vaccinated while in the 20-29 category that percentage goes up to 52.3% (138,322).

73.8% of the total adult population have received the first dose of the vaccine, while 65.3% have completed their vaccination schedule. The relevant EU percentages are 70.4% and 57.5% respectively.

According to estimates, 188,090 of over 18s have not been vaccinated, with 129,267 of them in the 18-39 age group.

Paphos is the top district in vaccinations, with 84%, of its population having received at least the first dose. It’s followed by Famagusta and Nicosia with 80.4 and 74.1% respectively and Limassol with 71.8. Vaccination coverage in Larnaca remains under 70%, now standing at 67.8%.
10,626 have been vaccinated at walk ins in the second half of July.

Σε σχέση με την εμβολιαστική κάλυψη ανά Επαρχία, όπως φαίνεται και στον χάρτη που επισυνάπτεται, η Πάφος εξακολουθεί να βρίσκεται στην 1η θέση με ποσοστό 84% του πληθυσμού της να έχει λάβει τουλάχιστον την 1η δόση. Ακολουθούν οι Επαρχίες Αμμοχώστου και Λευκωσίας με 80,4% και 74,1% αντίστοιχα και η Επαρχία Λεμεσού με 71,8%. Κάτω από το 70% παραμένει η εμβολιαστική κάλυψη στην Επαρχία Λάρνακας, με το ποσοστό να βρίσκεται στο 67,8%.

Στα κέντρα ελεύθερης προσέλευσης παγκύπρια έγιναν το 2ο δεκαπενθήμερο του Ιούλη, οπότε και λειτούργησαν (15-31 Ιουλίου), συνολικά 10,626 εμβολιασμοί.
