More than 2,000 students staying abroad for Easter received MoE’s €750 allowance

Relevant News

More than 2,000 Cypriot students staying abroad for Easter following emergency flight restrictions due to Covid-19 have received payment from the Ministry of Education of their €750 support allowance.

In an announcement published on Friday, the Ministry said that the payment process to beneficiaries is ongoing and that the application procedure will remain open until April 22.

It was mentioned that as soon as the payment is fulfilled, the beneficiary receives a relevant notification to their email by the Ministry.

Beneficiaries of the special allowance are students who remained in the foreign country where they are studying after March 21 — the day on which flights to Cyprus were suspended — and have submitted an electronic application via the Ministry of Education’s website together with the relevant documents that prove their student status.

More than 13,700 applications for the special allowance have been submitted with the Ministry as per the latest update.
