A new low pressure system is forecast from tonight, bringing scattered showers and snowfall in the Troodos Mountains.

Wednesday will be partly cloudy with the possibility of scattered light showers and some snow in the higher Troodos peaks. Temperatures will be 18 C inland and on the coasts and around 5 C in the mountains.

Tonight will start off partly cloudy with possible light scattered showers and some snow in the mountains but from midnight on will become mainly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms as well as snow in the mountains. Temperatures will fall to 10 C inland and on the coasts and 2 C in the mountains.

Thursday will be cloudy at intervals with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms and snow in the higher Troodos peaks.

Friday will start off partly cloudy with scattered showers and from noon on will become cloudy at intervals with scattered showers and/or thunderstorms. Snowfall is forecast at intervals on the higher Troodos peaks.

Saturday will be cloudy at intervals with scattered showers and/or thunderstorms and snow in the mountains.

Temperatures will edge down on Thursday to a little below average for the time of year, remaining at the same levels on Friday and Saturday.

At the time of issue of early morning weather bulletin there was 44 cm of snow on Troodos Square.
