More scattered showers are forecast for today and over the weekend as low pressure continues to affect the area, the met office said in its early morning weather forecast.
Cyprus has already received half the monthly average rain for April in the first few days and the pattern of afternoon showers is seen as continuing over the next few days.
Moreover, light dust is expected in the atmosphere from Saturday evening.
Friday will start off mainly fine, but clouds from noon on are expected to lead to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. The latter may be accompanied by hail.
Temperatures will be 23 C inland, around 21 on the coasts and 11 C in the mountains.
Tonight will become gradually cloudy. Temperatures will fall to 10 C inland, around 11 C on the coasts and 3 C in the mountains.
Saturday will be mainly cloudy with scattered showers, mainly in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will remain at the same levels which are average for the time of year.
On Sunday, increased local cloud will lead to isolated rain and/or thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains.
Monday will be mainly fine but increased local cloud from the afternoon on may lead to isolated rain, mainly in the mountains.
Temperatures will edge up to a little above average for the time of year.
