More poison has been found in the countryside round Peyia by hikers who reported the issue to police and to environmental organisations, Phileleftheros said on Thursday.
It said that the hikers found poison at various locations aimed at killing hunting dogs.
The Animal Party Cyprus had made a similar complaint recently as it urged the Interior Ministry and the Game Fund to intensify checks so as to put an end to such unacceptable practices.
The party said at the time that Peyia police had acted quickly to collect the poison while suspects were brought in for questioning.
As soon as the police report is ready it will be sent to the attorney general’s office to decide whether there is a criminal case.
